Why I Love the
Holidays: Where do I start? The
decorations, the lights, snow globes and every other trinket that winds up
and plays a song, warm gooey chocolate chip cookies, finding the perfect gift
for someone and seeing their face when they open it, watching my favorite Christmas movies, the list goes on. But most of all, I love spending time with
family.
Favorite Holiday Drink: Ever since I can
remember my parents have made glug at Christmas. It’s a mix of wine, raisins,
cinnamon, and I’m not sure what else. It’s delicious and the first thing I go
for once I tuck the presents under the tree.
Favorite Holiday Movie: I’m a bit old
fashion on this one, but I love White
Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. I love the dancing, the
friendships, and how everyone comes together to save the inn.
My Holiday Wish for the World: I wish and pray
that everyone across the global would get along, that prejudice and bullying
would cease to exist, and that the economy rebounds. I know that sounds cliché,
but I want the world to be a better place for my boys.
Favorite Holiday Tradition: Each year my mom,
sister, and I go shopping. When our boys were little, the trunk of the car
would be jammed packed with toys and gifts for the family. Everyone’s older
now, so the size of the gifts are smaller and it takes us less time to actually
shop, but that’s okay. We now have more time for chatting and lunch. =)
What do you like about this time of year?

Glug! Sounds yummy, but I'd be afraid I'd choke on a raisin!
ReplyDeleteIt is, and the raisins sink, so you're safe =)
DeleteI'm with you on your wish for the world. I want the world to be a better place for my daughter.
ReplyDeleteWe can only hope things change for the better. I know I do.
DeleteI agree. I want the world to be a better place for my kids, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI bet many of us think the same way!
DeleteMy favorite song from White Christmas (especially with having 3 daughters) is Sisters, Sisters. So cute1 We love shopping downtown together and having a special lunch in Water Tower - wouldn't be Christmas without that!
ReplyDeleteIt's those type of moments that help make the holidays special.
DeleteYum! Glug sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt is!
DeleteThat holiday drink sounds awesome, except I can't have the wine. *settles for raisins and cinnamon*
ReplyDeleteThe raisins are awesome because they soak up the wine -)
